I Guess I was Right, I do Lean to the Right, which Means I Think the Green Movement is a Joke

I am not really one to say "I told you so" but I told you so. The last major post was about the price of my milk being to high and on the rise. I blamed it on Biofuel. The comments I received on the cause of this were that other countries were having a shortage and the fuel prices at the time were increasing because of the to market cost. Basically that biofuel was not really a factor or a large factor. This was back in December.

It is now May, and you can't change to a news network without hearing about the increasing cost of food because of biofuel. Of course, there are still other factors, like export, a weak dollar, etc. But none of these are responsible for the world food shortage, included the hardest hit poorest countries of the world. None of them can go away in an instant, but using crops for fuel can stop overnight.

The green movement is just so darn short sighted. I have never thought it was a good idea to make fuel from our food...but apparently the greenies think so. They fail to look long term.

Biofuels is but 1 of 4 short sighted calls the environmentalists have totally screwed up on. I have mentioned a few before but will repeat myself now.

1. Nuclear Power - the spend so much time and effort fighting against it, that to meet the power demands of this country, more fossil fuel burning plants have been built. Smart thinking.

2. Paper or Plastic - back in the 80s the push was huge to rid the food markets of the common usage of paper bags. The war for consumers to adopt the more environmental pastic bags was waged and won. Now we are looking at bills in different states that place a .25 cent fee per plastic bag to deter consumers from using them because apparently plastic bags are now a problem.

3. Global Warming - Can I say I hate Al Gore. I hope so because is the largest scam artist our there. His movie and nobel prize are a fat joke. Outside that point, last year was supposed to be the worst hurrican season on record because of global warming...it was not. The polar ice caps are supposed to be melting at their worst rate ever...they actually got bigger last year and this. The world is supposed to be heating up, except that last year, the global temperature drop was enought to nearly erase the increase over the last 100 years. It snowed in India, and not just in the mountains. Winter seems to gone on for ever here in St. Louis. I could go on, but you should get the point.

4. Biofuel - It's was apparently the way to roll...that is if you like global food shortages and an energy source that takes more energy to produce than it provides. Yeah that makes sense. Oh and don't forget the the creation of biofuel actually causes more polution, CO2, and cut down trees than creating and using the same amount of gas. Good stuff.

The problem is the greenies want to feel good about themselves, and Im sure they do want to help. But their hysteria blinds them from really attacking the issue, and blocks their minds from thinking any other way. I have said it before, and I will say it again. I am for protecting our environment. It has giving us quite a lot. It's fruits give us life, and mother earth receives us back into herself when we die. We owe our existance to her. But I am also a realist which, and this may be a shock to the greens, is not an opposing value to wisdom.

Bottom line, drop the biofuel mandate. Produce crops for consumption, not fuel. The price on the commodities market will come down, the cost of food will go down, America can continue to aid other countries by sending food, the world will not be short of food (or will return to a level that is not causing riots), inflation will drop a little, gas prices will drop a little. That suggestion, and it's results, is not short sighted. Don't say I didn't tell you so, cause I did.

Environmentalist Make My Milk Cost More

I realize that it has been over a year since I have posted anything. Tisk Tisk on me. But life has changed. Since my last post, my daughter has turned 1 year old, I finally graduated college, I paid off massive amounts of debt, have a fantastic job and now pay much more for my Milk.

That is what I wanted to talk about today. I felt like I had to rant about this somewhere. My milk almosts costs 4 bucks a gallon. What the hell? A year ago, it was like $2.50. And no i am not drinking organic milk. Gosh that must be really high in terms of price. Sorry hippies, you made the bed...sleep in it. Most probably don't drink milk anyway.

I have come to find out that the rapid rise in price is not due to fuel costs. Well actually it is, but in a far different way not associated with transportation to market.

It turns out that corn prices are sky hight because of the demand for it to be used in the production of Ethanol fuel. So the dairy farmers are paying more to feed their cows which, in term, increases the cost of Milk.

Seriously, What the hell?

Don't get me wrong here, I am all for getting away from foreign oil. I don't mind drilling in Alaska either. But the environmentalists are messing that up too. I wonder if they know the caribou population is on the rise because the pipline is warm and gives them a place that they prefer for making baby caribou. So that means the pipeline is good for the environment. Or it means that there can be some type of harmony.

I am also for a capitalist society, in which, I understand that the point is to make a buck. Free market economy is a beautiful thing.

But I am not sure about where you live, I haven't seen one Ethanol pump ever. So where is it all going? And if it isn't wide spread available, then demand is not high, which means the production is not high, which means corn shouldn't be that high, which leads back the questions "why is hell is my milk so high?"

Besides, hydogen fuel cells are the future of low emmisions cars, along with nuclear power for the country. Which, interesting, environmentalists have started to come around on because it is truely clean, in terms of emissions. We should thank them for not supporting it and backing legislation that prevented nuclear power plants from being build for the past 15 years. Thusly forcing us to rely even more so on coal, natual gas, and other Non clean forms of power generation because wind and solar just aren't afforadable to about 90% of America. Environmentalists should get a high five...

...they should also pay for my milk.

What Happened to the War and the Cease Fire?

I just find it amazing that an epic struggle is set aside for the accused killer in a 10 year old murder case. Crazy stuff. I find it extremely interesting that every news outlet sent dozens of people over to cover the conflict. And now quite a few of them are in Colorado setting up tents and fueling the media circus.

I don't know if I have mentioned it, but I really hate the press.

The Prodigal Son (Blogger) Returns to the Hold Land (of Blogging)...to find a Brall?

Im not going to appologize for being away so long. Life seems to be in Emeril Lagasse mode...up a notch. Regardless. GrannySmith asked where I'd been and my thoughts about this Palestine Isreal thing. Ladies and Gentleman, start your engines. (A side note, I have massive amounts of homework due tomorrow and shouldn't be typing this.)

Every damn news outfit, excluding Fox, seems to be covering the story one sided. I won't call it antisemitism, but I just kinda did I guess. What really astonishes me is the complete and utter lack of full unbalanced information. The press seems to be backing the stance of Lebanon, which is that Isreal is killing innocent civilians on purpose and that they are on an unprovoked crusade. To himhaa about the press is becoming a worthless endevor, but the stance of Lebanon flat pisses me off.

How many rockets have been fired from their country to Isreal? Answer: Over 2000 and you don't think one innocent citizen from Isreal has been killed.

What stirred up Isreal? Answer: Hezbollah (which sounds kinda like a word Snoop would use)grabbed a soldier from Isreal (actually two eventually), and took him to Lebanon. Guess what Lebanon didn't do anything about it.

Not suprisingly, everybody is pissed at the US (and at Britian too but not as much because they are not the US). Why? Because we are supporting Isreal?

Simple solution kids, it will stop...when those captured soldiers go back. That's it. It's that easy. Condi Rice was right when she said that a different type of arrangement must be decided for the long term, but if you want bullets and missles and rockets to stop flying...give the soldiers back.

And for God's sake, would someone call Kofi of at the UN and tell him that. Jeez, you'd think these guys don't even listen to Isreal.

This conflict is one for the ages, and something I should do a little more reseach on. I know it's about the holy land. But that doesn't make sense to me either.

I am reminded of a joke I heard one time:

A few years ago, Arial Sharon and Yasser Arafat were talking in peace negotiations concerning this land they both believe is holy. Arial said:

"Now Yasser, before we started I would like to tell you a story. You see, many years ago Moses was with his people in the holy land where they were resting on a long journey. One day Moses decided he wanted to take a swim. So he stripped down to his altogher and jumped in for a refreshing dip. An hour or so later, he swam over to the shore to the spot were he had left his clothes...But they were gone. So he asked a few of his people who were near by who had taken his clothes. They said the palestines did and..."

Just then Yasser sprang up and said:

"Wait a minute there were no palastinians there to take them!!!"

Sharon said:

"Good, now we agree on that, we can negotiate."

On older maps, there is an area (the majority of the middle east) that is labeled as palistine. But so what. It wasn't a soverign state or anything. It was just the name of an area, like The Great Plains or something.

Anyway, Im rambling.

Cheers...now rack of naughty.

Things That Make You Go Hmm

As the debate over illegal immigrants heats up, I have heard a few libs use this phrase. Can you guess what is wrong:

"...you know, and the Republicans are criminalizing the illegal immigrants."

hmmmmm.....

Here's another one.

I wonder what would happen if I went to Mexico and flew the American Flag while screaming that this it was my country too.

hmmmmm...

Would our country be better off if we stopped treating so many groups like victims and make them actually work for a living labeling no job ones that americans don't want to do? For god sake at least the illegals work.

oh..

and they aren't illegal immigrants they are undocumented workers. Just in case you were confused.

Changes to the Website

You may see a few. I am tired of using this template. I am trying to think of a keen looking logo that i can actually create. My graphics design skills are a little rusty. So if anybody would like to offer assistance, i would gladly accept.
Changes will come slow though as hardly have time to sit down and regurgitate my thoughts...or to even think for that matter. Stay tuned.

Patriotism...Don't Get Skurd

I guess maybe I don't understand. I don't get why poeple on the left are afraid of being a patriot. I don't understand why they are afraid to say "Hey, America is the most amazing nation on the earth. Im proud to be here." Why will they not stand up for that? I have heard serveral people suggest that we are one of the youngest nations around and therefore who are we to tell other nations what to do. What they don't understand is that we don't really tell nations what to do because of who we are, we tell nations what they should do because they look to us for guidance.

The United States is hated and loved all across the world. Nations will talk out of one side of their mouths against us but expect us to give money and people when crisis hits. The entire world depends on our economy, the value of our dollar, and the opportunity to come here if they want to start a new life. We are a symbol of what is right. We encourage and spread democracy. But for some reason, several on the left think we are the bad guy.

Believe it or not, there are actually people in America who think that we are the terrorists and that the others (what i would think are terrorists) are actually victims of our "tyranny." Let me set that straight. WE ARE NOT TERRORIST!!!!! Here's the difference. If we use force, as in Iraq, we plan our attacks looking for the option of the least amount of civilian casualties. Terrorists, however, look for ways to produce the most civilian casualities. We encourage and promote change to democracy (it is not a fight to convert everybody to christianity as some would have you believe) where as terrorists strive for oppression and domination.

Are we out for our own interests as well? Sure. Stength and wisdom are not opposing values. (Bill Clinton actually said that...don't wet yourself.) It is the responsibility of our government to look out for us; To protect us. Being selfless is all fine and good, but we should expect back. We are not the only one in the world that has to be selfless stickly because of who we are. When Katrina hit, France made the comment that they did not feel that they needed to give us money because we had enough. Hmmm... Well it was nice knowing France. Now if we had done the same thing...my god.

Listen though, we shall overcome. Why? Because we are powerful...We are the greatest nation. It's ok you leftists, you can say it. It's ok to be a patriot.
Don't you dare wrap youself in the American Flag and talk about freedom of speach or equality and how those very things need to be fought for (i.e. gay marriage, affirmative action) and then turn around and agree with other nations that are in opposition to us, thinking to yourself "Well, they have a point."

If you like those other places so much...then move there. We'd probably be better off without you anyway.

Im Still Alive...Just Busy

Serously I am.

Not Politics But Exciting For Me None The Less

I never really intended to use this blog for my personal life, it wasn't really set up for that. However, I recently found something out that I, at all times, feel like shouting from a mountain top.

I am going to be a dad.

It's an all round exciting thing, with a little fear attached. But believe me you, big time eye opener.

I will have some political tidbits up as soon as possible. College classes, work, and the upcoming kid, have really been kicking my butt. Onward and upward. I will make time for politics...There's always room for Jello.

I Hate The Press

I hate the press. I should just leave it at that because it is all encompasing. But I can't.

Once again they stepped on their own tail when covering the mine accident. Press is supposed to be hard facts. Not presumptive speculation and hear say. There is a concept called confirming information that most news agencies fail to grasp. When the press reported the miners were alive, and then a few hours later reported the real news they were dead. That is completely irresponsible. They didn't even hear it from the mining company, they just heard it through the grapevine like everybody else in the area. The word of mouth was strong in terms of the news spreading to those physically there, even if it was unoffically heard from the company. But it was the media that hyped it to the entire country and was who truely spread the word. The fact is they mining company did not make any official statement, only one about the miners being dead. One of the families is going to sue because of the false information (see post on tort reform). But they are sueing the mining company, not the media. I think they are sueing the wrong people.

Blueberry Tort Reform...And...Birds?

I have got to tell you, I have been wanting to write this for a while. It's just finding the time. The problem is that with all the time I had to write it and think about it, it probably should be excellently writen. Probably not though.

It was a few months back when Bush started pushing a 7 million dollar budget to prepare for the global pandemic (god that sounds scary) of Asian Bird Flu. Everybody knows that name because the press has been trying to freak everybody out. Anyway. When President Bush asked for the 7 million, songs of "It's not going to matter anyway, It's to late to prepare," and "We won't have enough vaccines, we should have started years ago," began to be heard So now if everybody in America gets Asian Bird Flu, who will people start pointing a finger at? What a hint? It begins with a "B" and ends with an "ush." Granted someone could run over a cat in Cranksport, Nebraska and it would be Bush's fault.

What they (they being the blame Bush crowd) don't want you to know is that it is really the trial lawyer's fault. That's right. There have been some many lawsuits against companies that make vaccine, that serveral have gone out of business or will not make vaccine because there is to much of a risk of being sued. Therefor we do not have the producing capacity to supply the potential demand. In fact, lawyers were lobbying to hold up passing that money for one reason or another. Congress ended up only passing 3 million under the shadow of a Defense Spending bill. If there is an outbreak, there will be shouts that that "wasn't enough." Tragic isn't it? Only in America. Now please not, if something goes wrong medically and there is a reason to sue, go for it. But there need to be limits. The interesting things is that problem is mainly in America. Liberal lawyers play the "victim" card and press for millions of dollars.

I saw a story on a German citizen who is sueing because we was wrongly retained as a terrorist suspect and was tortured for a little over a year. Do you know how much he is sueing for? $75000 for lost wages and that is it. If it was an American, it would be in the millions. And there would be lawyers lined up around the block for a piece of the action. The sad part is it doesn't have to as drastic as torture to get sued for millions. Congress had to pass the Hamburger Bill that prevents people from sueing fast food chains to making people fat. Why? The last time I checked, we had a choice as to what we could eat and not eat. That a bill like this is even necessary is outragous.

We all have heard it. A lady sueing McDonalds because spilled coffee was to hot. The commercial on TV from some ambulance chasing lawfirm that advertises to join a class action lawsuit against some drug company (current the crosshairs are on Merc who makes Viox). If you're wondering why health costs are going up, you have the trial lawyers to thank. It's sad. There is a county (Jefferson Country just outside of St. Louis) that is down to only 1 gynocologist. Why? Because melpractice insurance is so high, doctors can't afford to have a practice. Something needs to be done.

As mentioned, there need to be limits. If people are going to sue for matters where they had a choice or where they are trying to make up for their own stupidity, there needs to be a cutoff for how much they can get. Tort reform. Only then will health costs go down. Only then will people start taking responsebility for their actions. Only then will be stop the false state of mind called victimhood (I have wanted to write something strickly about that topic for a long time). So everybody, the next time you see a commie liberal trial lawyer, ask for a couple of bucks they won for a single person on a junk lawysuit for french fries being to cold. That way you can pay to have the winds cut off you developed when you caught Asian Bird Flu.

Jokes aren't funny when you have to explain them but Blueberry (blue states=liberals) and Tort (sounds like a taste pastry treat).

Been Away For A While

Sorry for my absence. Thought I would post a few small things for brain fodder.

Enjoy.

(The blogger who mantains this page would like to note that he is talking to all 5 or 6 people that actuall read this blog.)

Selective Feminism

More things that I ponder.

I, frankly, think that Feminism is a joke. Not because I am a male, but because it is unnecessary. Back in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, it was, but now not so much. I find several aspects of it to by hypocritical. Here is an example.

Why is it that feminists fight for equality, yet have said nothing about having to register with the military? All men do, and the Government does't mess around. They will track to down. Understandably, that would force them to support something that they hate. But why?

Woman, as a population, are considered a minority. Intestingly enough, in American (and world) population there are more woman than men. Something like 51% to 49%. Small I realize, but enough to make them officially not a minority.

It's victimhood. American society, more specifically the left, has convinced minorities that they are victims. That subject, however is a whole other post of it's own. Perhaps the next one. Long it will be.

Survey Says....Majority

The property resulting from being or relating to the greater in number of two parts; the main part; more than half of the votes.

It is interesing that this is the commonly held definition of the word "majority," yet the political left only seems to agree with it when it suits them. In the 2000 electection, Dems shouted that Gore won the popular vote (or he won the majority) and that Bush stole the election. Or a neat BS statistic that Iraq's people don't want us there, or that a greater number of people want us to leave. Here is another one. The left slanted media loves to bring up the fact the Bush's approval rating is only 37% in favor. This, of course, means that the majority of people don't agree with Bush. Ok fine.

So why is it that when the majority of America is not offended by saying Merry Christmas, or having the 10 commandments in front of a government building, is it shut down? Why is it that while people in America overwhelming vote for defining marrige as being between a man and a woman, lawsuits are being won to overturn that? All of this the left champions by the way.

Just a thought I had. Im sure someone will try to answer.

Libs Make Huge Mistake...In My Opinion

Today brought, along with halloween, the nomination of a new Supreme Court Justice. Samuel Alito seems like a qualified guy as well as intellegent. His views, and rulings appearently, are fairly conservative to a point that the hard right should be satified with his nomination. The Dems missed a chance.

Harriet Meirs didn't really have a chance to show herself. I was not opposed to her and thing she would have provided a great perspective on the court. Bottom line, she was drummed out, and not just by the left alone but by the right. The left should have embraced her with a high potential for a swing vote on the court. But they jumped in with a song of not knowing much about her or that she was Bush's friend. Wrong move. This, again along with the right, backed her down and caused her withdraw. The left should have supported her simply because the right, as a whole, didn't like her or saw her as not conservative enough. They had a fantastic position. The angles they could have played on the right...Not supporting a candidate. Not hearing what she had to say. Not giving her the respect of a judicial nominee. Not supporting the process. Griding locking the nomination and hurting the american justice system and in turn hurting the american people. Oopps. That's not even close to what they did.

Where are the now? Fighting an up hill against an more extreme right candidate with no control over the voting bodies. ouch. If they filibuster (sp?), that can be voted down as well. With Miers, the approval vote could have gotten through with votes coming from both sides. Now, they can badmouth all they want, but they lost control. But hey, they made the wrong choice. And I guess if they make the right ones, or actually listened to the american people at election time, they would be in the white house...and majority in congress...and in touch with the american people.

My Style

I think I need to put a little more flow into my posts. I have so much to say, I can't seem to get it out. After reading some of my posts, I find that I jump around and just made statement after statement. That's fine, because I type the way I talk, but voice inflection, pause, and hand gestures just don't come out in text. While I have proof to back up my arguements, I just don't think I present it correctly. Meaning, I don't complete a full thought. My brain just goes on to the next point I want to make or the next thing I want to say and I just start typing. I don't know. However it makes for great debate. It's hard to explain. Maybe it a good thing because it sparks debate. What do you think?

The Race In 2008

The scary thing is it might just happen. Im serious. H. R. Clinton is probably going to be the Democrate's Candidate in 2008. I know, I know, I know. Everybody has already been saying it. But it frightens me. Why you may ask? Well that is what the blog is for.

She...Im having trouble...might win. And let me head this off. I am not opposed to the idea because she is a woman. It is mainly because of who she is. She is a wolf in sheeps clothing. She is willing to be whoever the American public wants her to be to get elected, but will disregard all of that if elected. She is already starting to try to change her image by talking tough on illegal immigration. She is aligning herself with faith based organizations. All of this while doing nothing about the borders and favoring abortion. I bring abortion up only to show her true side regardless of what she is trying to portray. I have no intention of discussing the issue, mainly because I think it has diluted politics for decades ever since Roe V. Wade (interestingly enough Wade was an alias to protect the identity of the women in the case who eventually changed her position on abortion. A fact picked up in a wonderful book Freakanomics recommended to me by my buddy at the blog Unlimited Hell).

You are probably thinking, "all polititians do that, change their image to pander to a particular voting bucket." To some extent you are right, but lying or manuvering around your core values is not. So why might she win? Two reasons. One she is a woman. Again, not a problem. But being a "minority" wins big points in elections, especially if you are trying to walk on ground no one has been before. The second is Bill "The First Gentlemen" Clinton. Carisma-a-go-go. That is a political one two punch.

A friend, who posts on this site and shall remain nameless but rhymes with Ess, and I were discussing this very topic. And what I am about to say, which is not really earth shattering, would be a great bout. Condlezza Rice VS Hillary Clinton. Condi would have her. Not only is she a woman, but black as well. Maybe the black population will stop believing the Dems who they wrongfully attact themselves to. That may be the next post, How the Democratic Party keeps the black population believing they are victims and must rely on the governement. Condi is strong, she is a foreign affairs expert, she is extremely intellectual, and has a cheerfull presence.

Please take no offense. Understand the issues are very important, and their physical attributes are not all that I see. But I am looking at it from a voter block standpoint, rather simplistic but extremely important. I have to agree with some that this country may be ready for a woman president. Heck, Hollywood (not in any way liberal and probably wouldn't support Hillary...sarcasm is cool) is already preparing the nation for that very thing with that new show Commander and Chief. (Sidebar, Donald Sutherland plays an evil Republican. Hmmm. Media bias. Not Hollywood.)

The true problem lies in the fact that the Republicans have no solid opposition to Hillary. McCain. Hell of a guy, but too middle of the road. Rudolph Giuliani, the man who kicked the mob out of New York and toughed out 911. Maybe, but still if you are talking true conservative, too middle of the road. There are others, but none that truely stand out. We will have to just sit and wait I guess.

It's late. There may be spelling and grammer mistakes. Im tired. Chime in.

House Cleaning

Let me appologize for not posting in a while. I have been enjoying my days off of late. (Kings English sorry) Have added a few new sites to the "Links" column.

One, newbuster.org, is a fantastic site. The guys are hound dogs when it comes to finding a different perspective on the news.

The other, www.veerministries.org, was created by a stand-up guy whom I met through work. Check out what he has to offer, which is everything from intellect to music producing expertise. I think there may be a few Easter Eggs on his site as well.

Now to the meat and bones of issues. Check the next post.

Blanket Statements

Honestly, it is but it isn't. The Democratic Party is so out of touch with America it isn't even funny. Well...It is sometimes. But I think they struggle to find an image. Why? Because they align themselves with the wrong people. Objection your honor...Asked and answered.

No seriously. Let me give you an example (for the one maybe two probably zero people actually reading this). Take Cindy Sheehan. As you know, she wanted to talk to Bush and camped out in front of his ranch. It was her way of grieving. Fine. But look at what it has turned into. She is now supported by Moveon.org and Michael Moore just to name a few. But her message has changed. It's now hate Bush this and hate Bush that. That wasn't her original point. She was then in the peace rally in DC, which ties in somewhat, preaching. She even made an announcement, "will (name I have forgot) please meet your folks at the Social Liberation booth...will..."

Honestly, I think it's a little unfair to her. She is being used. But she is being used by the Hate Bush "movement" who will do anything to deface him. That being said, here is the problem. These same groups, and the same people are being melted into the Democratic Party. And the party is not shunning it, but condoning it and embracing it with open arms. This really stuns me, because I know several Dems who are simply not like this so the blanket doesn't cover them. But the party in general is afflicted with the disease. The Democrats, in general, don't just disagree with Bush, they hate him.

Hey I didn't hate Clinton. I disagreed with him, but I considered him a bright, extremely smart, charismatic guy who did some (some) good things. I bet most Dems won't say that about Regan and none would say it about Bush. But it's a little give a take. Bottom line, they need to find out who they are. They need Dean to flip out or hand out a flyer or something. Hilary may do it. That will be my next topic.

Final Thought on Katrina Then Im Done

Can I get a "Man Up?" Bush did the right thing taking resposibility for the situation in the gulf. But let's be certain, he is taking responsibility for the supposed short comings of FEMA. Ok, Ok, Ok. They screwed up some things, however I still think that we need to look locally. In my humble opinion, the mayor needs a look. I think that his unthought out plan to get as many people back into New Orleans as possible with another massive storm heading in their direction is a tell sign that he really doesn't know what he is doing. Could it be an indicator of what was going on behind the scenes when Katrina was about to make land? I think so.

I heard an interesting phone call/interview yesterday that puts a new spin on the "hating and leaving behind of black people in New Orleans." It was from a guy from St. Bernards parish just outside of New Orleans. The area is mainly white. The majority of them where not rescued. I fact crews were rescuing animals in the city before the saw any help. Now why don't we see that in the press. All we see in the press is the faces of black being used as victims. Leave it to the press to be one sided. Honestly, it has more to do with poverty than anything else and we could go into my views on that. But this article pretty much says what I would say.

This is a great editorial and interestingly its written by a black man: Post Dispatch Editorial.

I will have a Roberts update soon.

Must Be Moving Up

I must be moving up in the world. I got my first spammer promising a quick and easy way to make money. I wonder if it is true. Spammers should be shot.

Book Report and North Korean

Was down at Blackriver Lodge over the weekend and had plenty of time to read. The UN Gang by Pedro A. Sanjuan was my choice. Rather interesting book. Pedro was at the UN Secretariat as an ambassador in the 80s and early 90s. KGB, drug deals in the parking garage, anti-semitism, and the absolute uselessness of the UN. Though there is some repetitiveness of phrase and over reiteration of facts, it still is an interesting read. I just ordered a book called ACLU vs. America: Exposing the Agenda to Redifine Moral Values. Should be fun. In the meantime I thought I would shift gears and read Jim Cramer's Real Money.

Just a quick note, North Korean is still building and developing nukes regardless of what they say. The duped the Clinton Administration and still got paid off with american tax dollars. Why would they stop now? Bilateral talks don't work without costing us huge amounts of bounty, and multilateral talks are strickly posturing. But hey, progress is progress.

The Press Presses for Nothing

Did I mention that I dislike the press. Aside from the fact that the majorirty are on the left, all of them have to make mountians out of mole hills. Yesterday, that would be Monday, when I got home from work I watched 4 seperate news channels taking it to a new level. The topic was the Los Angeles Blackout which lasted for a total of about 2.5 to 3 hours. You would have thought that we were under attack by a Soviet ICBM. They had city planers, governors from other states, ex LAPD, ex Fire Department, Current Fire Department, energy specialists, spokes people from various city agencies, circus clows, PGA Pros...you get the idea.

Now this blackout was during the day at around 1:00 pacific, and they knew why it happened. It was in fact a safety precaution to protect the grid from damage caused by spikes and was done intentionally. But we had live helicopter shots and special report coverage. It wasn't long before someone brought the possibility that it was a terrorist attack (because of the threat over the weekend) even though within 20 mins of the blackout, we knew what the problem was.
This entire situation should have been a scroll on the bottom of the screen with updates occationally. But it was in your face until the horse was dead from a severe beating. Every single "specialist" that came on said, "You know this isn't that big of a deal. Really. It's just a backout during the day and will be resolved shortly." One after another, yet coverage continued. The only drama the press were able to whip up as they ignored the possibility they needed to move on to something else was that there were people stuck in a few elevators. Literally a handfull.

I can only assume that some of you are thinking, "Hey...that's the press. That's what they are supposed to do. Get over it." You're wrong. The press is supposed to inform us, not present a posture that we are quickly approaching armageddon. I mean, raise your hand if you have been in a blackout during the day. It's no big deal, happens all the time and isn't bad because there is still light for christ's sake. I challenge the press to actually report the news, instead of follow a political agenda or continue coverage with total specualation on information that is nothing and never really will be.

Since I just started this we will see how it goes.

Opening My Mouth and The Blame Game

Lock and load. The first post. I was trying to think of something monumental to kick this off, however my delutions of grandure quickly subsided when I realized that I am really doing this for myself. I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head that I just want to shout them at the top of my lungs. I will resist the urge however and just jump in head first.

Why are we jockeying to take a political stand already? The media, whom by the way I despise but will give some ups for the coverage of Katrina, are thirsty for a place to point a finger. Why? You could say it's because most of the media are just looking for a story. When you add to the mix the left and Democrats with people like Ted 'I Drink Therefor I Am" Kennedy, with a dash of Bill "The Turncoats Are Coming" Frist, you get political manuveuring not seen since the Red Scare. For those playing at home, it's called The Blame Game. One guess, where it's heading...The White House.

For Christ's sake, I heard Cindy Sheehan say that the actual hurricane was Bush's fault as if he ran around in circles in the middle of the Atlantic to create the vortex and then steared it toward the Gulf Coast. It was my understanding that she was greaving for her son. Guess not. I could say more but will again restrain myself. Don't even get me started on Kanye West. But we are still finding bodies and moving an entire population. Let's get the kids in schools. Let's start repairing the damage. Let's drain the city. Let's reconnect people with their families. If something went wrong, we'll figure it out later. But not now. Not when the death count is rising every day.

The celebrities, the press, the Dems, and the outright Libs will blame Bush anyway. They can think of almost nothing else but hating him. However, the majority of America doesn't seem to agree according to the recent poll. Only thirteen percent. Eat your heart out George Soros. But you probably won't hear that anywhere else but the Fox News Channel. And to claims that funding has been cut by Bush and that was why the leeves where only built to withstand a category 3 storm. Guess what kids, even if the funding was there, making the leeves strong would not even be close to being completed when Katrina hit. It would not have made a difference. It was as good as it was going to get. Now I'm not an expert on leeves, but Lt. Gen. Carl Stock, head of the Army Corps of Engineers, is. So take his word for it.

On the subject of FEMA... It has got some issues, however I don't think that they are totally to blame either. But again, let's not try to fix the car while it is in motion. Christ. What a brilliant idea!! Let's bash and underappreciate the people who probably haven't slept more than 10 hours in the past week because they have been dealing with this but make sure they continue to do their job. That causes nothing but more problems. That is one thing we don't need more of...problems and bureaucracy.
